Comprehensive Plan

The draft Chincoteague Comprehensive Plan has been released for public review and comment.  The draft Plan reflects the results of an extensive review and update process by the Town of Chincoteague that took place throughout 2006.  The Chincoteague planning process provides a framework wherein residents and public officials can collectively consider the most pressing issues facing the community over the next 15 to 20 years. It also provides citizens an opportunity to evaluate alternative plan implementation strategies to capitalize on community strengths and opportunities.  In the end, the goals, objectives, and implementation strategies contained in this plan represent a community consensus on the path forward to the community's vision of the future.
